COMEDY FESTIVAL PREVIEW SHOWCASEThe Cleveland Comedy Festival and Hilarities 4th Street Theatre JANUARY 25, 2007 – CLEVELAND, OH Cleveland has always been a funny town. And soon we’ll have a comedy festival to celebrate it. A comedy festival in Cleveland? It’s no joke. In October 2007, the Cleveland Comedy Festival will be a four-day celebration of Cleveland comedy – past, present and future. Famously funny people from Cleveland will share the spotlight with aspiring locals and proven touring pros in a concentrated series of showcase events, comedy contests, themed shows, and workshops for comedians. Some of Cleveland’s many comedic “alumni” will also be honored. An organizing committee of local comedians, comedy professionals and other volunteers, together with Cleveland’s premiere comedy club, Hilarities 4th Street Theatre inside Pickwick and Frolic, are planning the first of what they hope will be an annual event for fans, comedians and industry representatives. As a special sneak preview of the October event, the Comedy Festival Preview Showcase will whet comedy fans appetites for more. The benefit preview takes place Monday, March 12 at 8PM, at Hilarities 4th Street Theatre inside Pickwick and Frolic. Headlining the March 12 show will be Cleveland’s favorite resident funnyman and comedy professor Mike Veneman, along with top local professionals Chris Hegedus, Dave Arena, Ryan Dalton and Quinn Patterson.
